Introduction of Flotation Separation Plant

Flotation is the separation method which separates materials based on the different physical and chemical properties of mineral surfaces as well as the floatation difference of minerals. In the flotation process, by adding chemicals to the pulp, some mineral particles will be selectively anchored to the bubble through agitating aeration; the particles float to the slurry surface will be scraped to form the foam products, the rest is retained in the pulp, so as to achieve the separation purpose of minerals. 

Applications of Flotation Separation Plant:

Flotation process is widely used in mining industry, which includes: nonferrous metal ore dressing, such as copper, lead, zinc, sulfur, molybdenum ore; some black metal, rare metal and some non-metallic ore dressing operation, such as graphite ores, apatite, etc. According to statistics, there are more than 90% nonferrous metal minerals adopt flotation process.

Working Process:

1. The ore should be crushed by jaw crusher, and then the fine crushing machine will crush the ore into a reasonable fineness; after that the material will be sent to silos by the elevator.
2. The materials are evenly by feeder into the ball mill for the grinding process.
3. The ores after fine grinding will enter into the spiral classifier to wash and classify the ore mixture.
4. After cleaning and grading, the ore will go through the flotation operation after being sent to the flotation machine by the mixing barrel.
5. The fine materials after being sorted by the thickener can get dry minerals after drying.

Tips for Flotation Separation Process:

The general particle size of materials of the flotation operation is below 0.3mm and above 0.05mm.
